Dentures
When patients have lost all or most of their teeth, Dr. Ada Toraño & Dr. Carrie Borchardt may recommend dentures. Fabricated from acrylic resin, today’s dentures and partial dentures restore stability inside your mouth, offering a design that looks more like your original teeth. We have seen the transformation as patients regain control over their lives and smile again with confidence.
Depending on the number of lost teeth, you will need either a complete set of dentures or a partial denture. Full dentures act as a substitute for your whole set of teeth on the upper jaw, the lower jaw, or for the entire mouth. Partial dentures will replace a few teeth on either arch and fit around your remaining teeth. Dentures and partials are removable, meaning they are not fixed inside your mouth.
Dentures can offer the following benefits:
- Replacement of missing teeth and improved esthetics
- Improved speech and chewing capabilities
- Expanded dietary options
- Support for facial structures
- Renewed confidence
For increased comfort and stability, Dr. Ada Toraño & Dr. Carrie Borchardt may recommend an implant-supported denture. With implant-supported dentures, titanium posts, or implants, are placed into your jawbone. Your denture then snaps onto the implants and is held securely in place.
Fabrication of a denture or partial can take from 2-5 visits. Everything about your denture, from tooth shape and shade to smile design, will be custom-fitted to your mouth.
